Every time I attend an event with this group, but especially the wonderful annual Tea, I walk away with a stronger sense of self. Listening to and watching this diverse group of strong women is an uplifting experience, despite our shared bond of grief. I always love to see the pictures others bring and share mine, this year was especially hard for me but also especially rewarding looking at others' mementos during tea. Additionally, and outside of the planned events, I'd love to explore "breakout" sessions such as dealing with our fathers, having/not having children of our own, etc. Those topics come up quite a bit and I think we could form informal mini support groups on them, if anyone is interested...

I was introduced to the Mamma Mias just 2 months after my mom passed away, at their annual High Tea. I was immediately impressed by their welcoming and supportive spirit. It is indescribably painful when a daughter loses her mother and there are some special issues associated with it that just aren't the same as with other types of losses. Not even the most loving dad, brother, husband or boyfriend will ever be able to fully understand or identify with what you're going through - only another motherless daughter can. That's why it is so wonderful to have this group.

I think it might benefit those motherless daughters who feel like they are alone and no one understands how they feel. I think they will find they are NOT alone and others have had similar experiences to share.

If you have lost your Mom, no one can understand you and your experience unless you have experienced it yourself.

It is very nice to have a place to go where others understand how you feel and what your experiences are.

You cannot bottle up your feelings. You have to express them. It is part of the grief process. Never be ashamed of your tears. Your mother will be with you forever. It really does helps to be able to talk to other people who have felt the same loss.

Very insightful. Would like to connect with motherless daughters, who are new mothers. I enjoyed connecting with the group, and found it very helpful.
