Actor's Express approached The Mamma Mia Sisterhood with a very special offer exclusively for our group to see their new production "When Something Wonderful Ends," a one-woman show.

This is the story of a woman who has gone back to her childhood home to pack up the belongings after the death of her mother. As she finds remnants of her childhood from the 1960s and 1970s, she recounts what was happening in the Middle East as she was experiencing her carefree and unknowing existence here in the US, and throughout the play she lovingly recounts her warm memories of her mother, as well as how much she continues to miss her mother and continues to honor her. The playwright, Sherry Kramer, lays out beautifully how events and policies which began in the fifties and continued through the sixties and seventies set up the current situation we face today, and she moves all of us with her expressions of love, admiration and respect for her mother. The actor in the play lost her mother only a year ago.

There's sure to be some references we can all relate to. After all, the tagline for the play is "One woman. One Barbie. One world."

Call the Actor's Express box office directly at (404) 607-7469 to buy your ticket. We get $5 off the regular price just by mentioning "Motherless Daughters." (Our ticket price is $17.) Seats are not reserved, so we will all meet in the lobby at 1:15pm to chat and then sit together for the 2:00pm performance.

I went to their web site to find out about parking - which turns out to be free and convenient - amazing in Atlanta! :) Directions are also on the page. http://www.actors-express.c... I hope more people can make it! :)

I would love to come, Leslie, but I'll be in San Diego with Clients. I would love to coordinate the June Event, after work slows down a bit! Hugs ~ Nicole

    •  We had a great mix of women there. It was nice that the actress took time to talk with us.

I enjoyed the play very much and being able to chat with everyone! My only wishes were that I thought the play would be a little more in depth about the loss of the writer's mom (though I did find the other parts of the story very interesting) and that I wanted to hear more of the actress' personal story...seemed like just as she was starting to share, we got the cue we had to leave. :( But maybe she will join us for a future meeting. I'm really really glad I went, though.
    •  The play was interesting and thought provoking. The movie should be very good.
