Hello Sisters!

Shake your booty over to Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Brookhaven for a groovy night chatting and playing team trivia with the foxiest team of all -- The Mamma Mia Sisterhood.

Mamma Mias will meet at 7:00 pm and get to know each other, and then the game begins at 8:00 pm (It's okay if you don't stick around for trivia.) We'll chat about mother loss issues casually throughout the night. Just sharing each others' company and providing friendly support makes a difference. We'll also have "show and tell" if you'd like to share photos or mementos of your mother.

Don't worry if you're not a trivia brainiac. The tunes will be jammin', and pizza and drinks will of course be available for ordering. Mellow Mushroom has lots of free parking, and it's just across the street from the Brookhaven MARTA station. Be there or be square!

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Cheers,
Leslie

Hello, Sisters!

Can we talk? That's what the Mamma Mias do best. Please join us this month for a casual evening at the Defoor Cafe & Bar, where we'll do plenty of talking, and also grab dinner, drinks, or whatever you're in the mood for.

The Defoor Cafe & Bar is a modern environment tucked inside the Defoor Arts Centre. There is free parking, and the menu has a nice variety of reasonable options. You are not required to order anything, though.

As always, we'll have group discussions on mother loss issues and opportunities for you to share. You may also bring photos or mementos for "Show & Tell."

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Cheers,
Leslie

If personal development and support are what you're looking for from the Mamma Mia Sisterhod, June's meeting is for you. This month's speaker is always one of our most popular programs.

We'll meet at Borders in Dunwoody, where our special guest speaker is Marian Massie, a life success coach and clinical hypnotherapist. She has assisted thousands of people reach their goals through individual sessions and seminars, and has also authored the groundbreaking book, You Are Soul. Marian is also a member of the Mamma Mia Sisterhood, having lost her mother to cancer when Marian was 22 years old. Learn more about Marian at http://www.marianmassie.com.

Marian and I both would love to know what topics especially interest you prior to our discussion. One idea brought up at May's tea party is overcoming the fear of abandonment. Please send me your feedback and ideas on your evite reply or in a separate email. This group is all about you and what you want to do, so don't be shy.

Hello Sisters!

Let's raise a tea cup to the third anniversary of the Mamma Mia Sisterhood! Please join us for a special pre-Mother's Day gathering with afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead. We'll honor our mothers and share friendship and support with each other. If you've never attended a Mamma Mia Sisterhood meeting, this is the perfect occasion to meet your sisters! Afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton is our annual tradition on the day before Mother's Day.

We will share casual group discussion on mother loss and especially any issues that come up around Mother's Day. During our meeting, we'll also have "show and tell" if you'd like to share photos or mementos of your mother.

Look for us in the private Lenox Room near the Lobby Bar. The full afternoon tea menu will be available, but you are not obligated to purchase anything. Simply having your company will be a pleasure. (Valet parking is complimentary with any dining room purchases.)

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Cheers,
Leslie

Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters!

Let's get our game on, girls! The Mamma Mias are going bowling this month! Join us for a friendly game or two and connect with other Motherless Daughters who understand what you're dealing with.

300 Atlanta is the fancy, newly renovated bowling alley where we'll have our bowling soiree. This place takes bowling to a whole new level, with modern decor, a fully stocked bar and upscale dining options. (I'm sure they still have beer and hot dogs for the purists!) Ask at the front desk if you need help finding the Mamma Mias. Please bring some cash to pitch in for the games. You're responsible for buying your own food or drinks.

This night will be a great chance to get to know each other and discuss any mother loss issues that you may be dealing with. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell."

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters!

Let's kick off the new year with a little cultural enrichment at the High Museum of Art. Our friends there have donated six complimentary tickets to the Louvre Atlanta exhibit. The first six sisters to call me at 404.202.9477 will get dibs on the tickets. All of you are invited to join us, though, and we'll even get a discounted rate of $10 per person if we have 10 more sisters attend. Regular admission is $15. (It's very important to RSVP on the evite or the meetup site this month so we know how many people to expect.)

Meet me at the main ticket area in the new wing by 6:30 pm. I'll be carrying a copy of the Motherless Daughters book. The museum is open until 8:00 pm on Thursdays, so we'll browse the exhibit until then, and then we'll get a drink or appetizer at the onsite restaurant, Table 1280. That will be our chance to get to know each other and discuss any mother loss issues that you may be dealing with. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell."

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters!

Join us for November's event at the Wolf residence for a special Thanksgiving tribute with Mamma Mia flair. Instead of a full-blown Thanksgiving feast, we'll share appetizers and other fun foods.

Mamma Mia Sister Heather Wolf is our member host at the Buckhead home of her in-laws, who she is thankful to have in her life. It is that kind of gratitude that we will celebrate at this event, giving thanks for the people in our lives who provide love and support. I'll be giving thanks to all of you, Sisters!

Please bring an appetizer, side dish or sweet to this gathering - enough to serve 8-10 people. Please type in what kind of dish you'll be bringing on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Homemade and store-bought treats are equally appreciated.

As always, we'll have group discussions and opportunities for you to share. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell."

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Cheers,
Leslie

Hello Sisters!

Join us for the second annual Mamma Mia roadtrip! We'll spend the day in the Alpine village of Helen, Georgia, at their famous Oktoberfest! Polka music, charming shops, bratwurst, beer and the Chicken Dance are calling us, Sisters! Read all about it at: http://www.helenchamber.com/oktoberfest.htm

Admission into the Festhalle is free on Sundays, but you'll be responsible for your own food, drinks and purchases. The Mamma Mias will provide carpools and silly girl fun and companionship.

We'll meet at my apartment complex (Camden Brookwood) at 10:00 am, and then we'll carpool to Helen, about a 1 hour and 45-minute drive. We'll have all the German fun we can have until 5:00pm, and then head back to Atlanta, arriving by 7:00pm.

I can't wait to Chicken Dance with you crazy ladies! See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!

Cheers,
Leslie

Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters!

Join us for September's event at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for the special "Niki in the Garden" exhibition. We'll meet in the main entrance area and then go on a self-guided tour together.

Maybe you've seen the posters around town with the colorful statues from Niki in the Garden. It is the world's largest exhibition of internationally renowned artist Niki de Saint Phalle's outdoor sculptures ever presented. The magical and joyful works include enormous animals, mythical figures, totems, sports heroes and most famously her Nanas -- oversized, often dancing, powerful women celebrating life. The Mamma Mias will fit right in!

Adult admission is $12, with discounts for students, seniors and garden members. Some parking is available, with a shuttle from Colony Square offered if that is full. Be sure to arrive early just in case. Check out the website for all the details: http://www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org

As always, we'll have group discussions and opportunities for you to share. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell."

Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters!

July's pottery painting was another fun night! The Mamma Mias are incredibly creative! August's meeting of the Mamma Mia Sisterhood is just around the corner. We'll meet at Lauren Spiridigliozzi's apartment in Vinings for movie night. Our feature presentation is "The Joy Luck Club," courtesy of Traci Moxson. The movie is an epic story of mothers and daughters, and sure to spark conversation amongst our group. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell."

The night will also include refreshments. Some will be provided, but it would also be great if you could bring a snack or beverage to share. (Feel free to bring wine and liquor - it is a Friday night!)

Parking at Lauren's apartment complex is free. A map is linked to this invitation, but feel free to contact Lauren for detailed directions - cell (404) 421-2720 or Lauren3295@yahoo.com.

See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!
