Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters! It will be tough to beat the beautiful day and sisterly bonding we shared as we planted flowers last month in Piedmont Park! Let's dig into another creative project for July as we paint pottery at All Fired Up in Emory Village. We did this same activity in February, but fierce storms kept many of you off the road, so we'll give it another shot. We'll meet in their party room, where drinks and snacks will be available. Feel free to bring anything you'd like to share. You'll choose the piece of pottery that you'd like to paint (average price range is $10-25), and all the paint, supplies and instruction are included for the night. Paint a piece as a tribute to Mom, or just enjoy the company of the other Mamma Mia Sisters. You may complete your piece earlier, but we'll be outta there by 9:00 pm at the latest. It's sure to be a crazy and creative night! Check out the studio's website for information on the experience: http://www.allfiredu pinc.com/ (Parking is available around the back of the studio.) As always, we'll have group discussions and opportunities for you to share. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell." See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling! Hello, Mamma Mia Sisters! Did your mom love gardening? Did she have a favorite flower? June 17th's Mamma Mia Sisterhood event is our chance to honor Mom by planting flowers together in Piedmont Park. We'll meet inside Piedmont Park at Magnolia Hall at 12:00 pm. Go to this link and scroll down for directions to Magnolia Hall -- http://piedmontpark. org/visit/directions .html. Flowers, gardening tools and refreshments will be provided, and no gardening experience is necessary! Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a beautiful afternoon in the park. We should finish planting by 2:00 pm. Be sure to call my cell phone at 404.202.9477 if you have trouble finding us. This will be a great opportunity for all of us to work together and get to know one another better. We'll share memories of Mom and discuss any mother loss issues that you may be dealing with. After we finish planting the flowers, you can visit the park anytime to enjoy our loving contribution. See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling! Join us at 10:00am at the Landmark Education Center (free parking) for a special introduction to the Landmark Forum led by Jean Marie Bridges (a member of the Mamma Mia Sisterhood), followed by a pizza feast! Sisters, you may have heard me mention the Landmark Forum in past meetings and what I personally gained from the experience. It transformed the way I viewed losing my mom, and it's also a big reason the Mamma Mia Sisterhood even exists! It wasn't just a loss -- it was also an opportunity! I'm really not exaggerating when I say that I'm the happy person I am today largely due to the Landmark Forum. Our exclusive Mamma Mia introduction will give you a taste of what it's all about, and you'll actually create a possibility for yourself that's 100% unique to you and what you want out of your life. That means any area of your life - family, career, romantic relationships, anything! Please pass this invitation along to ANYONE in your life who would like to join us -- your friends, your husband, your colleagues, your dad, you name it! We will have fun! Please contact me with any questions about the Landmark Forum or our special introduction. You are not obligated to register for the Landmark Forum, but after participating in our introduction, you might want to! It's 100% your choice, and I won't be upset if you choose not to. I don't make any money off of Landmark, either. It's just made a big difference in my life, and I want everybody to be as happy as I am! For more information, see http://www.landmarke ducation.com/

Hello Sisters! Let's raise a tea cup to the second anniversary of the Mamma Mia Sisterhood! Please join us for a special pre-Mother's Day gathering with afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead. We'll honor our mothers and share friendship and support with each other. If you've never attended a Mamma Mia Sisterhood meeting, this is the perfect occasion to meet your sisters! Afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton is our annual tradition on the day before Mother's Day. We will share casual group discussion on mother loss and especially any issues that come up around Mother's Day. During our meeting, we'll also have "show and tell" if you'd like to share photos or mementos of your mother. Look for us in the private Lenox Room near the Lobby Bar. The full afternoon tea menu will be available, but you are not obligated to purchase anything. Simply having your company will be a pleasure. See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling! FABULOUS MAMMA MIAS TOUR THE FABULOUS FOX THEATRE Hello Sisters! My mom loved showtunes! She was always singing classics from "South Pacific" or "The Sound of Music" around the house. Did your mom sing showtunes, too? Luckily, my mom passed her passion for musical theatre on to me. She would have loved this month's Mamma Mia outing at the Fabulous Fox Theatre! First, let's meet at 10:30 am at The Georgian Terrace Hotel's Savoy Bar & Grill for coffee, where we'll chat and get acquainted. Feel free to bring photos and mementos of your mom for "show and tell." Then, we'll walk over to the Fox at 11:00 am for a deluxe 1 1/2-hour guided tour. The cost for the tour is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. (Parking is available at the Georgian Terrace, on the street at meters or at numerous pay lots.) If you've been to a show at the Fox, you've only scratched the surface of everything there is to see. On the guided tour, you will explore the mysterious interior of the Fabulous Fox Theatre, one of the few remaining exotic movie palaces of the 1920s. Middle Eastern and Egyptian designs create a dreamlike spectacle of grandeur. Learn about the inspiration behind the Egyptian Ballroom, Grand Salon and Spanish Room, as well as the many other intriguing rooms within the Fox, without performance crowds. See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling! MAMMA MIA! LET'S SALSA! Hello Sisters! February's pottery painting night was a blast, even with the torrential downpour outside! We'll plan on doing it again soon, since the weather kept many sisters safe at home. This month we'll spice up our lives with tapas at Cafe Tu Tu Tango in Buckhead, and then shake our booties over to Tongue and Groove for salsa dance lessons. (Thanks, April, for such a fun suggestion!) Join us at Cafe Tu Tu Tango for tapas or drinks, where we'll chat about whatever mother loss issues you may be dealing with. As always, we'll have group discussions and opportunities for you to share. You may also bring photos or mementos of your mom for "Show & Tell." (You're welcome to order anything or nothing off the menu. Parking is mostly pay lots in the area.) Then, at 9:00 p.m. we'll walk a block over to Tongue and Groove for free salsa dance lessons! Mamma Mia Holiday Cookie Exchange Hello Sisters! The holidays are here! In December we'll pay tribute to our moms and the special memories we have of holidays spent together. We'll have a holiday cookie exchange and also join forces with our "sister" chapter, The Gainesville-Duluth Motherless Daughters Meetup Group. This month's special theme requires just a little bit of prior preparation, so think of happy memories of mom while you're baking. Choose your favorite cookie recipe, bake 2 dozen cookies, and bring 12 copies of the recipe. Then, we'll exchange cookies and recipes with each other, and you'll take home a variety. With these, you'll have plenty of ideas for starting some new traditions! We'll also have "show and tell" if you'd like to share photos or mementos of your mother. Our location is also special. We'll meet at the Kate's Club clubhouse. Kate's Club benefits children who are grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. (The kids won't actually be at our meeting.) The address is 1640 Powers Ferry Road, Bldg 2, Suite 200. Take Windy Hill exit off of I-75 and turn right onto Windy Hill. At the Powers Ferry intersection turn left heading North on Powers Ferry. At first stop light, take a left into Governors Ridge Complex. Take first right and park along side of the building. It's the second building; follow the signs to the front entrance. See you soon, Sisters, and keep smiling!
