Hi Nicole,

I actually was having a "Swish Party" at my place in November for some buddies of mine, but for some reason never thought to expand it to the Mamma Mias until I saw your posting. Would any of y'all like to join us for this? (If you have no earthly idea what a "Swish Party" is, read below to find out. :-) ) I hope at least some of you can come because with the way a "Swish Party" works, the greater the number of women participating, the better it is for everyone. If so, let me know and/or respond on the Evite.

Hi ladies!

Want to spruce up your wardrobe but don't want to spend a lot
of money in today's shaky economy? Well, sista, guess what?
You're not alone. Come participate in this "swish party" and you
may just be able to give your wardrobe that much-needed shot
in the arm without spending a dime!!!!

What's a "swish party"? It's a fashion swap meet where all the
participants bring gently used items from their wardrobe that
they no longer want or need, and hopefully come away with
some cool new-to-them stuff.

Click here for more info on how a "swish party" works.

Here are the rules for this one:

1) Please bring at least one gently-used item to swap.
2) The maximum number of items you can take away is the
number of items you have contributed. For example, if you bring
1 item you can take away a maximum of 1 item; if you bring 2
items you can take away a maximum of 2 items; if you bring 10
items you can take away a maximum of 10 items, etc.
3) You aren't obligated to take away anything if you don't see
anything that works for you.
4) You may bring tops, jackets, skirts/pants, shoes, purses, scarves, jewelry, belts, and even designer sunglasses if they're not prescription, or lingerie if it's a robe, camisole or slip (no bras or underwear bottoms for obvious reasons).
5) At the end of the party, the hostess and some volunteers will
make a Goodwill run to drop off all items remaining.
6) Lunch-y refreshments (sandwiches, salads) will be provided.

See you ladies for some fine swishin' on Sat Nov 15 at 12 pm!!!!

Sounds like a FUN idea, Mary. But, I just was thinking about being with other Motherless Daughters; And sharing our experience of strength and hope as the Holidays approach. Would this event provide that?

Probably not - this is just a social/girly-girl thing I was planning that I thought some of the Mamma Mias might like to attend, even though it's not a Motherless Daughters event per se. I completely agree with the desire/need to have something just for us ... Nicole, have at it! :-) You will want to email Leslie and have her give you assistant organizer status so you won't have to have her post it on the group for you. M

Would love to finally meet some of you. Holidays are always a tough time for me so it would be a perfect meetup.
