Inspired by the Motherless Daughters book, Meet-up to support, give our experience, strength and hope to local girls and women who have lost their mothers. We like to have a good time while bonding through a shared experience. We go to a new restaurant each month, so we can visit everyone's neighborhoods and favorite restaurants. We plan to start including other activities during our meet-ups, as suggested each month by members. This is a great place to find fun, intelligent, friendly women in the city who understand what we're each going through. The loss of a mother is something that changes you forever, but it can help to spend time talking with other women about it. We also talk about our lives, families, jobs, coping strategies, books we've read, and each members' interests and hobbies. Hope you can join us each month to have fun and find out how similar our experiences really make us.

1st meeting of the New Year!! This will be a time of sharing and support for one another. As well as food and fellowship. This meetup is a potluck. Also our theme for 2010 is 'Do Something New' and so I am asking everyone to bring a copy of their favorite recipe to swap and share.

What members are saying

It is on a role and truly can fill a need for some women out there who would like to connect with others who share a similar background. It just might get too big!

Once again, I think overall the meetup went very well. Everyone had a chance to speak and share their feelings.
