One of the branches of motherless daughters, are the motherless mothers! We can do meetings anywhere in the greater Chicago area. I am in the north suburbs, but will gladly travel around to have groups. Come and meet other motherless mommies, and gain friendship and support with the trials and blessings unique to those of us who are mothers, or becoming mothers, and have lost our own mothers. Many of us struggle with the transition to motherhood, particularly if we have lost our own mother before the birth. It can be very difficult, and as many have experienced, PPD or other postpartum disorders can set in. It can be a difficult time to mourn the loss of your own mother. You are never alone, there is always someone who can understand where you have been, or where you are. Anyone is welcome! Bring your kids to groups, or leave them home! We don't care if you are a new mom, or an experienced one! Or a mom that needs some company in the life of motherhood. Come and share, or just eat!

I lost my mother 8 years ago, on July 1st, 2000, to matastasized breast cancer spread to the lungs. My mother was only 50, and I greatly fear that I too will die young. Currently, I am working on the final stages of my dissertation for my Doctora

Hi and congrats on your baby-to-be! I would have helped out but I'm pretty far and don't know anything out in your neck of the woods. I would love to give suggestions to whoever becomes Asst. though. It's alot of work to be an Org. that's why I finally asked for help and I now have 4 Asst. Org.

Jenava - I will try to make it over at 12:00. That actually works better for me. My in-laws plane lands around 1pm, so I can probably stay for about an hour while my husband goes to pick them up! Of course, this will depend some on how the morning goes.

Also robbie, evanston isn't too terribly far from me (maybe 20 minutes with no traffic) , and if you would like to host a meetup next time, that would be great!
