Hi,

I am doing some research for my dissertation on the effects of young adult daughters losing their mothers to cancer. I am thinking of a cross-cultural search, but it depends on who I can find to participate. I myself lost my mother to cancer at the age of 22, so I am very interested in this topic. It's basically a memorial to my mother, and I encourage others to join in so they can honor their mothers as well.

Please write to me if you fit my description. Participating will not take up a lot of your time. You just have to fill out a survey.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Tara. I am new to this forum, but I am very glad to have stumbled upon it.

Yesterday (April 22) was the 3rd anniversary of my mom's passing. She died when I was 18 years old and I am now 21. She had a cancerous tumor that spread from her duodenum (which is the shortest part of the small intestine) to her stomach. Though her life expectancy was grim when she was first diagnosed, her strong will and love for my family kept her going for two more years. It was the hardest time of my life and coping with the aftermath has not been easy either.

If it isn't too late, I would be happy to participate in your survey.

Thanks, Michelle
